Join Us October 20th! Grant for the Web Skill Share with awardee Janos Farkas of CLink Media, Inc

Dear Grant for the Web Community,

We are excited to bring our first Skill Share community event hosted with awardee Janos Farkas of CLink Media, Inc on Wednesday, October 20, 2020 11:00 to 12:00 pm EST.

To register go to: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/187721027647

During this 40 minute session, Janos will talk about Peer to Peer Monetization of Online Content with Lump Sum Payment
Legitimate commerce relies on identifying and authenticating the products, buyers, authorized sellers and providing records of the transaction. There are no globally accessible tools for open commerce for online content that address authentication and details of ownership or usage rights conveyed with digital objects. It is the ambitious mission of CLink Media, Inc. to create these tools.

We will demonstrate the highlights of our skills by featuring a marketplace aiming at the NFT (Non-Fungible Token) domain. NFT’s reached sales of over $10 Billion in Q3 2001. In spite of their financial surge, the current NFT marketplaces bear many deficiencies. In the presentation, we will show solutions for many of those and will touch on the target payment system, the Rafiki implementation of the Interledger Protocol.

In the technical part of the presentation, we will demonstrate the integration of the DOA ledger technology - powering perhaps the largest content registry network (DOI) today - with an interoperable identifier and metadata framework. The platform is slated to adopt the forthcoming standard of the Coalition of Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA), which has released its public draft in September this year.

CLink Media provides an interoperable infrastructure for asserting attribution and rights information, tools for legitimate reuse of digital content, and peer-to-peer monetization without third-party intermediaries. This project seeks to address the shortcomings of current online monetization for content in these areas: (i) authenticating sources with tools proposed by recent initiatives, (ii) managing complex rights-holding and permissions,. (iii) handling multiple payees.

We do hope you can join us!

Looking forward to seeing you on October 20!!

The Grant for the Web Team
