Back in 2019,I was big on exploring a new way of monetizing dance based content and even found myself at a conference or two...!
I found a strong correlation between my own work and technologies like Coil and Cinnamon Video - with the cherry on to being that the Grant For The Web team were a great bunch of people and welcoming supporters.
However feeling I would be launching premature, I wanted to wait until I had some more experience, more content, and be finally ready to say goodbye to my on-stage career and spend more time choreographing and filmmaking.
Fast forwards to 2021 and I've now had films produced for the BBC, Google Arts & Culture and several other notable organisations based in the UK and beyond. www.JamielLaurence.com
During COVID, I founded the #FundFreelanceDance initiative - Supporting over 1200 participants, creating 67 paid jobs and raising over £12,000 towards returning Dance Artists and their Supporting Artists and Services back to the studio, back to their craft and back working on paid engagements. - www.FundFreelanceDance.com
Maintaining my relationships with current Grantees such as Casey Heard over at Ballet Rising, and making new connections with Grantees like Brianna Ashley Stuart, I was absolutely blown away by the enthusiasm and empowerment that the GFTW team had given these content generating powerhouses, and the difference their work is making to the wider Dance Conversation.
I'm Back, and I'm ready to start talking about everything Dance, Web Monetisation and continue where I left off in trying to work out what's next!
Check out my recent upload on Cinnamon Video and get ready for much more to come...!
