We actually have a built-in feature on Forem for chat called Connect — you should see the speech bubble icon for it in the top right hand corner.
We haven't yet fully activated this channel, but I know that we plan on opening up some real time chat channels via Connect soon. We're still thinking through the logistics of what channels we want to open up, but once we've figured it all out, you can expect these channels to open up!
